wit & whimsy

I’ve been feeling the baby flutter since week 17 but in the last few days Ray finally got to feel his movement (he’s been so jealous of the “connection” Adam and I share). And today, I’m watching in awe (and, to be honest, horror) as I see my belly bounce with my own eyes. This little dude is so active and strong, I kind of fear for my body in the months to come.

Enrolling in Aquafit at our local community and rec centre has been so fun. Our instructor is this sweet elderly lady who will yell at you to push harder and last night’s class was full of hilarious sexual innuendos (“Hug your pool buoy tight!”…”Feel the thickness and pressure between your thighs!”).

A new book for Adam and freshly baked Montreal-style bagels with a side of a 19-week baby bump.

Crazy dog lady: more like cat lady, based on their personalities lately.

Offspring memo: I’m growing a penis inside me! In other words, we’re having a boy. Guess my one-year birthday bling will be stored away for now.

What I’m reading: A Beautiful Truth by Colin McAdam, The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey and A House in The Sky by Amanda Lindhout & Sara Corbett.

Offspring memo: bébé bump at 17 and 18 weeks. Thank goodness for my “granny chic” taste in fashion, which allows me to extend the wear of my pre-pregnancy clothes!

Offspring memo: baby’s first moccasins!
