wit & whimsy

Offspring memo: Ray can’t stand how I go around with filthy glasses so the other day he grabbed them off my face to wipe them down. I immediately (immediately!) started searching all over the house for something: my glasses😮. When I asked Ray, “have you seen my glasses?” he was stunned. BRAIN FOG!
Also, we purchased our stroller and I’m going to need to a lot of practice… Otherwise, I’ll be stubbing the toes of everyone I pass on the sidewalk.

Offspring memo: the one and only article of clothing we’ve purchased for Adam and adorable gifts from a sweet friend; not girly hand-me-downs from his female cousins but his very own!

Offspring memo: Remember when I wrote that I’m cutting white carbs out of my diet because of the most terrifying toilet experience due to pregnancy constipation? Well, apparently I haven’t learned my lesson.

Offspring memo:
1) The other day a friend asked, “Any weird cravings?” and Ray answered for himself. We had to point out to him that the question was clearly directed at me.
2) We were heading downtown for an ultrasound and I had to pack two snacks, one for Ray too.
3) Ray packed a jacket…for himself.
Pictured: Ray was anxious to pack a hospital bag last night and Oscar wasn’t pleased.

Offspring memo: nesting and looking forward to meeting our lil’ sasquatch.

Around the house: baked chickpea patties based off of Oh Dear Drea’s recipe and a nice evening in our solarium interrupted by Ray’s idea of prepping for parenthood: “let’s practice being parents. Waaahhhh waaahhhhhhhhhhhhh. Your turn to get the baby.”

Typical chicken scratch penmanship. Years from now I’ll need a magnifying glass to follow the instructions!

Around the house: Homemade salsa and a hand burning from jalapeño oils to prove it. Also, an enormous “to do” list for Ray, as I can’t be trusted with a power drill in my current state (massive placenta syndrome™, cause of memory loss and clumsiness, coined by us).

Offspring memo: 31 weeks and still stupidly happy and grateful to be pregnant and expecting! Also, scored this $9.99 tapestry for the “nursery” (aka corner of our bedroom) from UO.

Home, sweet home.
